And then they didn’t care…
Human Rights Campaign President Kelley Robinson.
“…could not be more disappointed to see Ford Motor Company Shirking its responsibility to its employees, consumers and shareholders…consumers should take note that Ford Motor Company has abandoned its commitment to our communities.”
Today’s Youth
“Young people have consistently been at the front of movement work. Saying youth are the future is…not the full story. Youth are the past and the present and the future.”
Short Tales
This is a new page for Breadcrumbs. It is just for short thoughts that I wanted to share with people without delving into an entire article. Quicker and easier to post and quicker and easier to read. Hope you enjoy them
A New Hope
Wade explains why his family left Florida. “We’ve done so many great things here, so it wasn’t easy to leave. But the community wasn’t here for Zaya, so the community wasn’t here for us.” Wade’s daughter Zaya turns 17 soon. She came out as transgender in 2020. All of the anti-transgender legislation in Florida has caused many to flee the state. The Wade’s also as they left for California
Jerk Kicker
Butker, is clearly a misogynist and homophobic asshole. His views are both archaic and insulting. It is 2024 and we do not have room for this type of thought anymore. Sometimes I wonder why we still have so many problems in this world and then I see something like this and it all comes back into focus.
PGA vs. LIV
I watch in amazement as the world of professional golf turns itself into this microenvironment that mirrors the dissention that we see in the world today.
Alabama Fails Again
But today, Alabama is another state to pass a measure targeting diversity, equity and inclusion programs. This is the new trend among conservative states. At least 6 other states have already signed Anti-DEI bills and over a dozen more are considering them.
IVF Battle
Parker wrote that Alabama had chosen a “theological based view of the sanctity of life…life cannot be wrongfully destroyed without incurring the wrath of a holy God.”
“Meghan was Sparkly”
“I’ve buried, I think, 13 Trans siblings in the last five years. We have been the pallbearers for our community. We stand in solidarity. We want to make some noise. This is our injustice and our blood runs in the streets. Meghan was not just a statistic.”
Iya Dammons, Founder Baltimore Safe Haven
Maignan
“It’s not the player who was attacked. It’s the man, it’s the father. It’s not the first time that it’s happened to me and I’m not the first person it’s happened to. We’ve had statements, publicity campaigns, protocols and nothing has changed. Today it’s a whole system that must take responsibility.”
Fleury
The National Hockey League (NHL) had a special night honoring Native Americans. Veteran goal tender Marc-Andre Fleury, of the Minnesota Wild, had a mask made to celebrate the night. Many goalies will do this for special events such as the world championships and the Olympics. But the league told him he could not wear the mask.
Hero
A young man in his teens died recently. Tragic but unfortunately not uncommon in our world. But his was not the only life that has tragically ended in this incident. His name is Jonathan Lewis Jr. and he was 17 years old. His whole life ahead of him. And when you read further you will know that it was a life that we would loved to have seen come to fruition.
Nonbinary
“I am a human being…I have feelings and my goals in life are positive ones. I want to see my students be successful in however they define success. Yeah, this is a fight for my rights. But this is also a fight for the kindness, compassion and respect for every individual in the country.”
Men & Women vs The Armed Forces
When my daughter was beginning the process of applying to college, we had a conversation about the Service Academies. And I remember telling her that in my opinion there was no place for a woman in the Armed Forces.
Cowardly Nebraska Doesn’t Get it
In the America where I grew up, people are supposed to be judged, not by some accident of birth, but by the merits of their work and the content of their character…”

Generations Change
A high percentage of Generation Z and Millennials believe that younger people face more hardships today than earlier generations. On top of that young people also have to deal with issues such climate change, political divisiveness and gun control.
Woniya Thibeault
Woniya Thibeault is one of the toughest and bravest people we will ever see in our lifetimes. She is an ancestral skills and wilderness survival instructor. But what I admire most about her is her mindset and how she approaches these challenges.
Baseball Fails Again
As the Baseball Playoffs are in full swing, I’d like to address one issue that had occurred earlier in the season. Another glaring incidence of ignorance that has been allowed to continue in our lives.
